He knows there is a bigger picture that reveals what lies ahead.

Sometimes the future looks promising.

Other times what’s coming appears ominous.

No matter what lies ahead, this trader is not afraid to call it as he sees it.

What he sees ahead of time tends to catch other traders off guard.

This trader is always ready to grab the gains and go when a setup proves profitable.

Members of the Simpler Trading community follow him daily in our trading chat rooms… waiting for his next straight-shooting revelation.

Sam Shames, Director of Equities, is this week’s “Friday Feature” team member.

At Simpler Trading, there is nothing more valuable than our people – our biggest asset.

Sam headlines this highlight of the newsletter where we present one of our team members making an impact.

He has a steely ability to assess the markets from a big picture view. He sees the broader nuances of the market, scales down to a particular setup, and targets trades with a high potential for profitability.

Traders today are really working for their money in a wild market not showing signs of settling down any time soon.

The pandemic shockwave hit hard, and still lingers. Markets haven’t been easy to navigate, and traders are often flustered as they try to find profit potential.

Sam saw all this coming – even predicting the pandemic crash – and he knows the big question traders face each day.

How do we get into a trade and get out quickly before the market crushes us?

Sam’s strategy starts with how the overall market is moving to find momentum and direction. Using trade-specific time frames – smaller or longer – he works to avoid holding any position too long. He’s always working to limit risk in a market that can shift without reason.

A simple analogy is that he waits for the tide to reveal its direction and then takes advantage of the movement. Tide first, then boats.

And, if the trend and market signals hold, he’s not opposed to riding the waves longer than some might expect. He’s also not afraid to see a big wave coming in the wrong direction, take profits, and get out quickly. The market will always provide clarity over time and re-entry is open whenever a setup returns.

Sam is active in our Options Gold trading room. He also delivers extended, often rousing, video reviews on Fridays.

His aggressive swing-trading style is an inspiration to traders wanting to learn technical analysis while recognizing the distinct psychology and market correlations presented on each chart.

When Sam is trading, watch for the tide and be ready to ride the momentum any way the market rolls.
